What real STEM looks like at age four
A preschooler does not need to understand a circuit equation to notice that a switch changes the sound, a battery provides power, or a speaker turns an electrical signal into music.
The instructor names those relationships while the child touches, tests, compares, and repeats. The lesson is concrete: I changed something, and the system responded.
Why the day includes more than the build
Young children cannot sustain a long seated assembly session, and they should not be expected to. Music, movement, art, stories, and sensory play create a rhythm that supports focus and lets children return to the project in manageable steps.
This balance also builds fine-motor control, listening, turn-taking, confidence away from a caregiver, and the language needed to describe what they observe.
